Welcome To Our Blog!

We are pleased to announce our first baby will be brought into this world around October 28, 2011! This is my first attempt at making a blog, so please bear with me through the process. This seemed like the perfect place to document it all, so here goes nothing!

The Nursery and The Letter R

This week's letter is R, for baby g-i-R-l! Good friends from Louisville, Kelly Underwood and Chris McGarvey, were paired up this week. They got an extremely adorable mommy and me robe set. My robe is monogrammed with my initials, and baby girl's robe is monogrammed with an S. And the wrapping job was spectacular as well! Wrapped in our nursery colors pink and green. Here are some pictures:

We are also just about finished with the nursery! It just needs some finishing touches.

Last, we had a dr's appointment this past week. Everything is looking good with baby. I am still measuring small at this point, but baby's growth is still right on target! Based on the femur bone, head, and stomach measurements, she is in the 59th percentile. I am 31 weeks pregnant now. We are getting so close!!

The Belly Button....

has officially popped!! I am an outie now, and it's really weird. You can see it through my shirts!! One of my coworkers said to me the other day, "Oh, look at your cute little outie!" Really, would she be saying that if she had a belly button sticking through her shirt? I don't think so! I tried to get a picture of it. This is the best I got for now (yes, it is a very close up):

My Outie
I am also thinking about getting a sign to wear at work that announces my due date. I really am not trying to complain, I just find myself talking about when the baby is due and if I have a name picked out to all my patients. Too funny!! It's going to be weird when I have the baby, I am going to have to find something new to talk to my patients about. I am guessing I will still talk about the baby :)

I is for Incredible!

This week's gift comes from my good friend from college, Carmille Elayda. She had the letter I, and spun the message to talk about what an incredible time this is in our lives. And we completely agree! We have approximately 2 months to go - I am 30 weeks today! She got us a travel pod system, which includes a traveling case for pacifiers, baby bottles, and a changing pad/diaper carrying unit. The colors are great! It will be a perfect addition to our diaper bag whenever we get it (hint, hint!!) Haha, just kidding! We are seriously very appreciative of all the fantastic gifts we have been getting from week to week. Here is a picture of the gifts:

Other than that, nothing too much to report this week. We are still busy getting the house together for our little addition! We cannot wait!

G is for "Girly, Girl" and "Goodnight Baby"

As you can see, this week's letter was G. We have finished spelling out Baby, and are now onto Girl. Katie Vass and Leslie Estill were paired up this week. Katie is my brother Andrew's girlfriend, and Leslie is my brother Will's girlfriend. They sent their gifts separately, so Leslie went with some cute, cute, cute baby clothes for girly, girl and Katie got a swaddle sack and the classic book Goodnight Moon for goodnight baby. I am loving all the creativity going into the letters! Here are a few pictures of this week's gifts:

This outfit is ridiculously cute! She will be able to fit into it come spring/summer. Perfect!
Other than that, we are still busy getting things ready for the arrival of baby girl. I am officially in the third trimester now, so we do not have too much time left! We ordered and assembled the crib and changing table. Well, the crib is assembled but the changing table had a broken part so we are waiting on the new part to come. The crib looks great though! We definitely found out once it was together that we have very little room in our "nursery," but that's okay, we are making it work! We also went to Ikea on Sunday (which just opened here in Denver, and I am not kidding when I say it was busier than a sporting event) and got a chair for the nursery and a wall decoration/lamp, as well as a storage unit for the bathroom and some shelves for the extra bedroom to keep all our accumulating stuff on. Once it is all assembled, we can do some decorating and hopefully post some pictures!

Last, I had a doctor's appt yesterday and things are still looking good. I can't remember if I mentioned this in the last post or not, but  I am measuring small at this point. She measured baby's head and stomach though and they are not measuring small so all is good. She actually projected her in the 57th percentile at this point. And, we were able to see little sprouting hairs on the ultrasound! I wonder if she will come out red like her mom?? Anyhow, that's it for now! Thanks for reading!

Y Is For "Y Do I Need This?" Plus Other Updates

Kelly Buckland, another childhood best friend, had the letter Y this week. She got some great gifts! And she was very creative with her messages of "Y do I need this?" For example, for the wipes warmer she said "Y? Because nobody wants a cold ass!" Haha!! She had a baby 10 months ago now, so she really has a good idea of what I will need. The cool thing is we actually have the same due date, one year apart! She got us a wipes warmer, a baby care timer (keeps track of things like diaper changes, breastfeeding, etc), a NoseFrida (a nasal aspirator where you literally suck the boogers out, I know, sounds gross but I hear works wonders!), and she got me a hands free pumping bra which I know will come in major handy! Thanks Kelly! Here is a picture of the gifts:

On another note, Aaron and I just got back from a 3 day trip to Telluride.  We had a great time, Telluride is absolutely gorgeous. There really are no words for it. In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful mountain towns in Colorado. And the people were incredibly friendly!! It was great! We stayed at a bed and breakfast, and true to its word we had homemade breakfasts by the owner in the mornings. It was delicious! It was only an 8 bed place, so we had breakfast with the other couples in the morning. It was interesting to talk to others and hear about their experiences. There was quite the North Dakota ties this weekend, so we had many conversations surrounding ND. Here are some pictures highlighting our trip:

Last, I had another doctor's appt last week and all looks great. Next week is my glucose tolerance test. Yum I just cannot wait to drink that juice ;-) Here is the best/funniest picture of baby girl we have so far. She is literaly kicking her head! A soccer star in the making!
